Fonts that I am BORED TO DEATH with:

Juicy

Papyrus

stupid CURLZ

Gigi

I feel a mild contempt for them. I think they are OLD and OVERUSED, and there are MUCH better fonts out there!!

Winter is here, and the site has the "frosty pallette" colors on.

Series "Of Empresses & Queens" and " I Love TV" will be posted this month.

Tempted to watch My Fair Lady, but where is the time?

This last month has been rather busy-- Earlier, M and I visited London, and then flew down to Florence, Italy for a few days. Italian television sucks, but they do broadcast your horoscope in the morning. Very cool.

I've been laying a little low.. a couple of commissions, and the upcoming holiday season will guarantee that I will be busy...
The links for the series "Of Empresses & Queens" and "I Love TV" should be posted this week, so check back to see the new work.

Of note, I did see Marie Antoinette-- Sofia Coppola could give Alfonso Cuaron a run for his money in the visuals department.

OMG-- it's the end of another glorious season of The World's BEST Show, Project Runway. My money is on Uli. Wait...I have no money.

Listened to East Village Radio today. Listened to Attuned, which was interesting in a 90's-0r-early-pumpkins-rock-guitar kind of way...I liked the podcast, I think I liked Deerhoof...can't remember. The Attuned website was just a placeholder. Bummer.

Really liked Underground Awakening with Jason Charles... don't know why, must be in that sort of mood, and of course, listened to a bit of Chotime.

Update

I haven't been posting these last few days-- things are busy as they always seem to get!!

Where is that "We'll return after these messages" sign???!

This is the first of the new Pop Fantastic Series, "Of Empresses & Queens"-- I know there's Marie Antoinette FEVER in the air, esp. with the anticipation of the new Sofia Coppola film, and here is my contribution to the current zeitgeist. The Pop Fantastic website WILL be updated with the new work, which will also feature figureheads such as Queen Victoria of England, Empress Wu Zeitian of China and Russia's Catherine the Great. Of course I will update you when the illustrations are complete and when they are posted.

I've been listed on Lost at E Minor, a really great forward webzine that features upcoming artists from Australia and all over the world. The webzine's founders, brothers Zolton and Zac Zavos, are from Australia themselves .

Just coming off of the weekend. Bowie Ball was really great: it was so cool to see my work illuminated and projected out in the public. Even I was surprised how well it came out....

I don't have any new work to show-- I really ought to, but I am going through a bit of a drawing funk. Ithink it may be because I have been pretty prolific in the last couple of months, but I am just OVER pencils and photoshop lately.

I have also submitted my work to a site called "Lost at E Minor." As that develops, I'll keep you posted.

I was going through my old files, and I found a scene from my senior thesis film from Pratt... THis wasn't the original version that I had created in school. This was the version I created that was more indicative of the style I animate in now.

TOday was spent going through my files and organizing. I know that I am forever organizing, but I have a LOT OF STUFF, ---at least it feels like it -- and I am still working at finding an organization system that works so that I know what I have, where I can find it, etc etc. Efficiency would be a nice skill to master, I have to admit. It's been my weakness for a really long time.

Files cleaned up today: "Tease," "Kitty Litter," "Voltaire's Deady," "Barf" as well as a couple more files-- there are a total of 30-35 files to go through... I think I have my work cut out for me, but I know these things pay off in the long run.

WEll, I hope at least.
Yesterday, I met Deryck, who is organizing the Bowie Ball on Sept 14. What was supposed to be just a brief meeting (maybe an hour at most?) turned into a pleasant 3 hour stay, as Deryck is a lot of fun to hang out and talk to. Looking forward to participating in this.

I also did a random google search and found "Tease" at this website : www.dollrevolt.org

Of course, I am happy to see that my work is up, however, I think my clip is over-compressed though, extremely pixellated. Should have sent them a better compressed file. Ugh.

Still working through the Women of World History Series. This one is Empress Wu Zetian of China. I'm still undecided about her kabuki-esque makeup, but, we'll see how the final version turns out...
Last night, Ryan and I met up at FIX in Williamsburg for Michael Alan's Drawathon. Sketched from 7pm until around 2am.
